Rule 14-405. MCLErequirements for lawyers and paralegal practitioners on inactive status.

(a) Lawyers and paralegalpractitioners on inactive status are not subject to MCLE requirements while oninactive status.

(b) Return to active status.A lawyer who is on inactive status for six months or more and who returns toactive status must complete the12-hour Accredited CLE requirement by June 30 ofthe Compliance Cycle that begins after the lawyer?s return to active status Aparalegal practitioner who is on inactive status for six months or more and whoreturns to active status must complete the six-hour Accredited CLE requirementby June 30 of the Compliance Cycle that begins after the paralegalpractitioner?s return to active status.

(c) A lawyer who has been oninactive status for less than six months may not elect active status untilcompleting the Accredited CLE requirements that were incomplete at the time thelawyer elected to be enrolled as an inactive member. A paralegal practitionerwho has been on inactive status for less than six months may not elect activestatus until completing the Accredited CLE requirements that were incomplete atthe time the paralegal practitioner elected to be enrolled as an inactive paralegalpractitioner.
